[ even in Nanashi's hands, they twitch erratically as they get pulled--- because CLEARLY the person who they're attached to are becoming agitated.

Of course not! [ he tries to lean in the opposite direction to avoid additional tugs. ] Haven't you ever pet a cat before?! This is basically the same thing!

[He's still pulling on them and not giving Leon space! Wowowow.]

[ he grits his teeth, trying his best to get used to the pulling. he clenches his fists, starting to close one eye. Leon raises his shoulders, lowering his head down to the table. ]

The longer you do that, the longer I will pull on your ears to see if you like it.

[ it's a... half-threat, half-promise??? ]

[ he's not dead yet! just horribly flustered, as he reaches up to touch them and make sure they're not torn or anything. not that Nanashi was THAT rough but.

[ with one shaky hand, he pounds the rest of the tea back. ]

No. It's wondering how we even consume it on a daily basis.

Were you some kind of cat person in your previous life? What the hell man?

Well, he must have good taste. Too much soda hurts my teeth. I believe it's the carbonation that does it.

[ and then he politely places the mug back on the table, before shrugging. ]

I've seen a cat in my memories. He... seemed to like me, so. I guess I was some kind of cat person.

[He sighs.]

How similar is he to you?

I don't know, Nanashi. [ and he tries to hide his sadness, especially when not even Leon knows who his past self is. ] I'm sure that I will eventually mirror his physical characteristics, but I can't tell you how he acts...

... though, he is more likely to display anger or annoyance compared to happiness.

I just wonder if I will want to be the true me. What if he knows more about business than I do? Or about cats? Those are important things.

[ a polite laugh as he gets out of his chair and goes to refill his drink. ]

I want more coffee...I'll take a nap if I don't get caffeine in my blood stream.

You could certainly forget the 'old' part.

[ this time, his laugh is louder but doesn't lose the warmth or the happiness that he feels hearing Nanashi. ]

Coffee? Okay, here. I'll just bring the pot. It's great, isn't it? I'm lucky to have Jamie, he's a lot smarter than I am when it comes to this.

Do you want a snack as well? The sandwiches are fresh, I made them this morning.

You're really lucky, I agree. I'd like a snack if it's no trouble. A sandwich would taste good with coffee.

Feel free to take one. [ and he gestures at the table, where the sandwiches sit--- all ready to be eaten. ] And if your demon wants one as well, take another as well.

[ he stares at the bird, still a little... unnerved by it, but as it does seem to be relatively tame? all is well. ]

Will there be more? Of them, I mean.

I don't know. I've only got this demon with me. He's on his best behavior because I shoved a gun down his throat yesterday.

[He is so proud of it.]

No problem, Nanashi. Feel free to come by any time. I usually have extra snacks around for employees and students, so my pantry is open to you... within reason, of course.

[ he double-takes. ]

Or... perhaps you could sic your demon on people instead? Maybe guns aren't necessary.

[He can shoot a few bullets and not miss. ]

Caladrius is a demon that can heal people. His power has limits too. I wouldn't rely on that too much.

[ carefully, he gives the bird a gentle pat on the head. ]

Amazing. I can't help but be envious. But, I would prefer you not use your gun unless absolutely necessary... of which I am sure you don't take having one lightly.

He's not all that powerful. All he can do is fix up smaller injuries.

[Nanashi looks up at Leon sadly.]

I grew up around real weapons and I've seen how stupid people can be with them. You can trust me to not pull any idiotic stunts.
